1/29/2021

In tree work, accidents happen all the time, all year along and everywhere around the world. I was fortunate enough to win the previous New Zealand National Tree Climbing Competition. Some would say is 'luck', others might say 'deserved' or even those more competitive say 'see you next year'. Tree climbing competition is a branch of tree climbing less explored by many considering a divergence from what tree work is - which they believe is nothing to do what we do daily. I might disagree but also depends on how you see and do things at your regular job. Read More

7/3/2020

In an industry which can both mesmerise and transform lifestyles; we can convey insights that can be incorporated into an urban space. From third world to first, arborists need to be able to nurture and train people, understand the environment around them, familiarise themselves with and maintain a multitude of tree species and educate the public, all to improve our urban areas. Cooperation with environmental researchers, forest engineers and botanists can propagate not only a shared knowledge but also potential career avenues and opportunities.

Discussion About Tree Climbing and What is Available

6/12/2020

In our industry, the art of climbing has exceeded anyone's imagination. With diverse possibilities, we can climb trees focusing more on our work positioning, rope pulling strategy, less time-consuming and safe movement whilst the job still gets done on time. For all that to happen, we should integrate what we know and be ready for the unknown. Throughout the years, I have been developing strategies on how to properly use specific gear and technique to particular jobs.
